Our story
From waste to growth, made in Uxbridge
Silifolia is a small Ontario company with a simple idea: take a mineral that would otherwise be waste, and turn it into something that makes plants and soil stronger.
The land
Our home is the drumlin land at 12099 Concession Road 4, north of Uxbridge. Drumlins are the long, glacier-made hills that give this part of Ontario its rolling shape — beautiful, but not always easy cropping ground. It’s exactly the kind of soil where a little calcium and silica goes a long way, which is what got us started.
The mineral
Our raw material is free wollastonite tailings from a nearby Ontario mine — a calcium-silicate mineral that weathers in soil to release calcium and plant-available silicon. Rather than let it sit unused, we put it to work in the ground.
The kettles
We process in small batches using semi-new kettles rescued from closed-down microbreweries. Good equipment deserves a second life, and there’s something fitting about brewing gear helping grow the next season’s crops. It keeps us small-batch, local, and honest.
The people
We’re neighbours, not a faceless brand. Cesar and the team are hands-on — you’ll meet us at the farmers’ market, on the phone, or out in a field talking rates for your soil. Free technical advice comes with every bag and bottle.
